Music and the Mystical:
A four week journey in sound and spirit
Take a spiritual journey through deep listening, contemplation and connection.
Week 1: AWE.
Eric Whiticare; John Rutter; Beethoven.
Week 2: RELEASE.
J.S. Bach; Arvo Pärt; Elgar.
Week 3: CREATIVITY.
Edvard Grieg; Hildegarde von Bingen; Vivaldi.
Week 4: TRANSFORMATION.
Sibelius; Ludovico Einaudi; Nigel Westlake/Lior.
Each week we frame the listening with a theme, some contextual positioning of each musical example and with words chosen from wisdom writers that might inform our meditation and conversation. This course allows us to carve out some moments of calm, to nurture a sense of communal resonance, and allow for the emergence of mystery.

Meet your course facilitators
Dr Linda Davey
Linda Davey, PhD; is an Australian clinical psychologist, whose career trajectory has woven through psychology, academia, theatre, and music; with a combination of skills and experience that traverses research, writing, teaching and professional practice. With over 30 years guiding groups in transformative learning, Linda's unique background allows an approach to course facilitation that creatively blends academic rigour with aesthetic sensibility and embodied practice. She is a spiritual seeker within the creation-centred spiritual tradition: a way of living within the community of earth that deepens our reverence for life, participates in the creativity of an evolving cosmos, and develops our passion for justice and human transformation. Drawing on the wisdom traditions of indigenous peoples, western and eastern spirituality, and contemporary science, these principles highlight the nobility of each person and recognise all of us as artists, mystics, and prophets – compassionate creators of beauty and justice.
